To solve our problem of powering events at HAPPIDROME off-grid, Sara approached Exeter University’s BSc Renewable Energy course at Camborne School of Mines in Cornwall. In response to Sara’s brief and with support from Exeter’s Proof of Concept fund, third year student Jonah Kinross designed and built a working prototype for an off-grid renewable energy generator and storage device that was modular, portable and weather-resistant. The integrated wind turbine, solar panels and power storage successfully powered our kit for HAPPIDROME 4.
After testing this prototype at HAPPIDROME, Jonah subsequently founded KraftMaus, a renewable energy company marketing to Aid Agencies, the Military, rural communities and businesses and the agricultural sector.
